Pharmacy graduation day is just around the corner! If you cannot contain your excitement, then you’re not the only one. You’ve been going to school, studying so hard, and working your butt off all of these years (potentially 7+ years of college work)! It might not even feel real that it’s almost time for you to branch off and become a real pharmacist. Regardless, it’s time to prepare for your graduation!
Graduation day is going to be one of the most exciting days because you get to celebrate all of your hard work in front of your colleagues, friends, and family! Graduation day is not just your day though, it’s also a day for your family to celebrate and be proud of you too!
One of the unspoken traditions of graduating is to take nice pre-graduation photos. Remember high school senior pictures or senior portraits? It’s probably not going to be as professional nor as big of a deal now, but it’s still important to make them nice. You can use these photos as a remembrance or to send out invitations for your graduation ceremony or graduation parties. Thankfully, with the power of the cameras on our smartphones, you can use portrait mode to your advantage to make it look almost professional.
These were some of my favorite photos from my pharmacy graduation photography session with my boyfriend (not an actual photographer) and his iPhone XR camera. Some photos were enhanced through special effects from the phone, but most of them were all through the power of portrait mode on the iPhone.
Tips to Make Photos Look More Professional:
- Outfit changes
- Outfit 1 underneath cap and gown
- Cap and gown unzipped revealing outfit 1
- Cap with outfit 1
- Gown only
- Repeat the first 4 tips with outfit 2, 3, etc…
- Location changes
- Campus
- Parks
- Places with lots of color in the background
- Camera angle changes
- Hair style changes
- Changes in poses
- Enhance color of background using photo editing apps
- Consider using white strip treatments prior to photoshoot day for a brighter whiter smile
- Take pictures when it’s bright outside
Here’s a throwback to my high school senior photography session in 2012. It doesn’t feel that long ago, but a lot of growth has happened within the last 9 years. This was a full blown professional photography session where it was shot at multiple locations, several outfit changes, professional make-up artist, and printed canvases included.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and it gives you ideas on how you might want to do your graduation pictures. Again, congratulations on your achievements!
